Został sprowadzony do Europy Zachodniej jako koń wierzchowy dla cesarza Napoleona, jednak nie sprawdził się ze względu na złośliwy i niebezpieczny charakter. Został kupiony w Paryżu przez hrabiego Juliusza Dzieduszyckiego do jego stada w Jarczowicach. W roku 1864 został sprzedany do Sławuty, gdzie dawał potomstwo duże, szerokie i kościste, często bułane i kłapouche.
Był koniem wysokim i kościstym, jednak długim, podkasanym, o zbyt krótkich żebrach, ładnej głowie i dużymi uszami. Na szyi miał bliznę prawdopodobnie od kuli.
Czasem nazywany był "Feruch Chan".
